The Emory Chamber Winds and Brass Choir (formed from the Emory Wind Ensemble musicians) take the stage for their final concert of the semester. Candler Concert Series

The first cellist to be signed by the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label in more than 40 years, Franco-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas blends a brilliant command of her instrument with a rare musicality. Candler Concert Series

Gabriela Montero’s visionary interpretations and unique improvisational gifts have won her a devoted following around the world. A virtuoso in a class of her own, Montero is a pianist whose flair for improvisation puts creativity back at the heart of classical performance and whose music-making is about infinitely more than just the notes on the page.

This semester the Emory Wind Ensemble has formed two chamber ensembles: the Chamber Winds (a harmoniemusik-inspired dectet plus string bass) and a Brass Choir. This first concert of the year will feature select movements from Arthur Bird’s Serenade, op. 40, and Eric Ewazen’s Fanfarria Castellana. Tyler Ehrlich conducts.

Candler Concert Series

Bringing a rare musical spontaneity that gives audiences the sense of hearing even treasured canon repertoire as if for the first time, the quartet is in-demand on concert stages throughout the world. The Danish String Quartet joined us from Copenhagen, Denmark for this concert featuring String Quartet No. 16 in E-flat Major, K. 428 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a selection of traditional Nordic folktunes.

ECMSA Emerson Series
