Volunteer

Providing a world-class experience at the Schwartz Center is due in part to the help of our volunteer ushers. Under the guidance of our house manager, we welcome a volunteer usher corps of approximately 40 volunteers each year.

Volunteer ushers are a crucial part of the Schwartz Center team. When patrons attend a concert or special event, it’s the smiling faces of our volunteers that first welcome them. We work hard to keep our volunteers well-informed and well-trained, and in exchange, we ask that our volunteers give their very best while they are representatives of Emory and the Schwartz Center.

In addition to experiencing world-class artists and distinguished guests, each year we invite our volunteers to an event exclusively for them. There is always food and entertainment, and it gives our volunteers time to socialize with each other and to chat with the Schwartz Center team.

The annual volunteer orientation typically takes place in late August or early September; however, we can welcome volunteers throughout the performance season as well.
